BTS have over 235 songs in their discography, which has made choosing a singular favorite song a very difficult task. However, while my list of favorites is ever-changing, these songs currently form my top 10 BTS songs.
Since ranking the songs has proven to be very difficult, here are the songs in no particular order.
Black Swan

Black Swan, released in 2020 as part of the group's MOTS7 album,
is an R&B ballad. The song's introspective lyrics that deal with
an artist's fear of loss of passion resonated with many people,
making this not only critically acclaimed but a fan favorite too.
Home

Home is a pop/R&B song in BTS' MOTS:Persona album. The track, despite
not being released as a single, is a standout song on the album. The
lyrics focus on the emptiness of the luxuries of life without anyone
to share them with.
Fly To My Room

A sub-unit song off of the 2020 album BE, Fly To My Room is a neo-soul, pop
song sung by V and Jimin along with rappers SUGA and J-Hope. The song which
came out during the peak of COVID-19 aludes to the monotony of life in quarantine
and lamenting the loss of emotion in the pandemic. The juxtaposition of the lyrics
with the upbeat tempo is what makes it one of group's most unique songs.
Pied Piper

BTS' lyricism is often looked over and the carefully crafted Pied Piper is proof
of the band's witty lyricality. Released in 2017, the song is a commentary on
BTS' large fanbase ARMY. The self-aware song hints at fan culture and how often
fans put their love for their favorite artists above everything else. BTS share
a very strong relationship with ARMY. Hence, this song very carefully strays from
being condescending but is rather a message written with a lot more affection.
Butterfly

Throughout BTS' career, the group has never shied away from talking about the difficulties
in life, from depression to burn out to losing someone, they've adressed many uncomfortable
feelings in many of their songs. Butterfly, released in 2015, is one of the group's best songs.
The lyrical complexity of the song along with the vocals and rap verses adds to the pain and emotion
the song conveys about the fear of losing someone.
Paradise

Released as a part of BTS' Love Yourself: Tear album, Paradise is one of the group's most
critically acclaimed songs. The song which adresses the pressure of dreams that is imposed on
the youth has become a fan favorite cult song. Every verse touches upon a different aspect
of the exhuastion of unfullfilled dreams and fatigue from life. The vocals and rap choseively
form what is one of the group's best songs. Unfortunately the song has never been performed live.
Just One Day

The fifth track of the 2014 Skool Luv Affair album, Just One Day is one of the group's first R&B Love
songs. BTS took a very different route from their Hip-Hop songs to release a song on one's first love in
school. The music video and choreography for the song remain one of their most memorable to date.
MIC Drop

After staring their careers as a hip-hop group, BTS' music evolved over the years to cater to many other
musical genres. MIC Drop was their hip-hop comeback in 2017. Originally a B-Side track on their Love Yourself: Her
album, the song was released as a single with its remix version featuring electro house DJ Steve Aoki and American rapper Desiigner.
Spring Day

Considered by many to be BTS' best song, Spring Day is one of the group's most emotional and poignant ballads
in their discography. Co-written by RM and SUGA, many belive the song is not only about longing and the past of
an old friendship but was also written as a tribute to the tragic event of the sinking of the Sewol ferry carrying
many high school students. In South Korea, the song continues to be used as an anthem to never forget the loss of all
the victims.
13430

13430 is the number assigned to the dwarf planet Pluto. The lyrics of this 2018 song, co-written by RM, hint at
an old relationship where the group compares their feelings to that of the isolation of Pluto. They revolve
around someone constantly, only to not be acknowledged and kept at a distance. The R&B song showcases the group's
lyricality, vocal and rap skills as well.
